Six weeks down, three to go. Wow. We have enjoyed every part of this journey so much, and we hope to make the best of our last few weeks on the road. If you have any suggestions for us, please leave them in the comments below. We will be in California for the next week. I am looking forward to some sunshine!
Here is what we have been up to for the last week. Enjoy!
On Sunday we did a cool trail hike in Oregon along Rt. 26. It was like stepping into another world – we have gotten used to the dry, windy air of the mid-west and Oregon is very rainy and overcast.
After that, we went and visited the Grotto Garden.
Monday, we went to the Victorian Cafe for breakfast. They have a great selection of eggs benedicts, so yummy! The rest of the day was spent driving from Bend to Portland.
Tuesday, we found a really neat vintage leather shop, Halfpint Leather in downtown Portland. They had some really beautiful things and the store smells so good! After that, we went to our Airbnb for the night. A treehouse in Washougal, WA. Sleeping in a treehouse is SO cool! It was situated right on a river with a little front porch, perfect for taking in the beautiful view with a cup of tea and a book. Wednesday, we drove to Mt. Ranier National Park. It starts to get dark here around 4:30 so we didn’t get to see a whole lot of the park before it got dark. Still, it was so beautiful, and I love how green and lush everything is here!
Thursday. Happy Thanksgiving!
It was definitely a change for us not to have our families on Thanksgiving, but it was also really special to have our first married holiday just the two of us. We got a cabin to stay in and cooked cornish hens and some our favorite Thanksgiving dishes. After we ate we watched Miracle on 34th St. Our first Christmas movie of the season. It was different than what we are used to, but it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Friday, we ventured into the city of Seattle and went up to the top of the space needle. Gorgeous view but very cold and windy! After that, we went to the original Starbucks and a few other shops in Pikes Place Market.
Saturday we went to Olympic National Park and hiked the copper creek trail. Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you all for your continued support and for following along on our journey!
